booty

Definition: (noun) buttocks
Example: Some Americans think J-Lo’s butt is too big, but in other countries, having a big booty is considered bootylicious.
Quote:
“My jeans are great because they have Lycra so they stretch. For the girls with the larger booties and the smaller waist, you might have to wiggle into it but they’re very comfortable and form-fitting.”
This week’s word appears in one of the classic songs of the twentieth
century. “Shake, shake, shake! Shake, shake, shake! Shake your booty!!”
sang KC and the Sunshine Band in 1978. The word booty
was used before the 70s, but it really became popular in that era, and
in the 1980s, some new booty-related words were coined.
The most famous of these is booty call
- a late night visit, usually just for sex. Those who have no booty
calls for a while are said to be experiencing a booty
drought. And you might occasionally see bootylicious
(booty + delicious) in print, though it isn’t used as much in conversation.
As an aside, Kimora designs Baby Phat women’s clothes
for her husband Russell Simmons’ company. His men’s fashion
line is called Phat Farm. Phat (pronounced “fat”)
means good or attractive. However, both these brand names are jokes. A
fat farm is a kind of spa you go to when you need to lose weight. Baby
fat is the fat that’s cute when you’re a baby, but that you
(in theory) lose when you grow up.
