This woman, who he says is “not even my main lady” also prevents him from seeing his other ronis. This term for a sweet girl dates back more than fifteen years. In the early nineties, rapper Vanilla Ice boasted in Get Wit It, “Don’t chase a roni ’cuz I know that I can get ’em/I’m not the type so I don’t even sweat ’em.”
But Mr. Ice, Ice, Baby was not the only musician to have had a way with the ladies back in the day. In 1982, Michael Jackson was calling the object of his desire by the original form of that endearment—tenderoni—in the song P.Y.T. (Pretty Young Thing).
